Earlier today, Steven Moffat was awarded an OBE by Prince Charles for his contributions to drama. As you’re probably aware, Steven Moffat is currently most well known for being at the helm of two of the most successful shows on the BBC; Doctor Who and Sherlock, the shows which Moffat says is the reasoning for his success.
Speaking to the Scottish Daily Record, Steven said, “I’ve got not one, but two dream jobs so to get this lovely thing for already indulging myself in public, seems like an excess of good fortune… It was very thrilling and formal and slightly, slightly, just very slightly, like being back at school. But nicer because everyone got a prize… Talking to other people before I came in, I kind of feel everyone’s here for a better reason than me.”
Steven didn’t just talk about gaining his OBE though, he also talked a little bit about Doctor Who and his future saying, “I’m quite excited to do something that’s not Doctor Who… Ahead of me this year I have 14 Doctor Who and 3 Sherlock films, so the last thing I’m doing is contemplating work beyond that. But the day’s coming when I’ll have to.”
Here at GallifreyArchive, we’d like to wholeheartedly congratulate Steven on being awarded this prestigious accolade of becoming part of the Order of the British Empire.
