Who Is Me?

WARNING: Spoilers for Heaven Sent. Please do not read this if you have yet to see the episode.

face-the-raven-promo-pics-18The Doctor’s last confession at the end of Heaven Sent, that the Prophecy is wrong, it’s not a Time Lord/ Dalek Hybrid that will wipe out Gallifrey, instead the revelation is that the Hybrid ‘Is me’. Now the fact that there’s a rather disliked character this series, taking on the name of Me has caused some speculation among fans as to who the ‘me’ the Doctor talked about is actually the Doctor, or instead Ashildr. Now I like these kind of speculations, because it means I can do some detective work. I went back and watched Heaven Sent again, this time with subtitles; one thing I had to admire was how grammatically perfect the subtitles were, every name was capitalised, such as Dalek, even though I know on some subtitles the word Dalek is shown as dalek. Now, this is where it gets interesting, I took a screenshot of the Doctor’s closing line in this episode and the word ‘me’ isn’t capitalised. Screen Shot 2015-11-29 at 17.38.13Now this could be a red herring, to discourage us from the fact that the ‘me’ in question is actually Me, as we see her appear in the Next Time trailer; luckily we only have to wait a few days to find out.
